Meet the Team: Shakirra Myers, Project Coordinator

As Davis Infrastructure’s Project Coordinator, no two days are the same for Shakirra Myers. From coordinating project services to building shipment trackers, and even providing technical support, she is the person to get you what you need when you need it.

Organizing the many people, deadlines, and materials that keep Davis on track and its customers supplied with mission-critical power is no easy feat. Shakirra credits her background in business administration, her two and a half years in the role so far, and her team with her success. “I love the open communication, honesty, and family-like environment here,” she says. “It’s so welcoming that even my kids think the office is fun enough to ask when they can ‘come hang out at work again.’”

The open and supportive environment at Davis was instrumental in what Shakirra considers her proudest achievement: although she used to struggle with social anxiety, her role as Project Coordinator helped her build confidence to speak up in meetings and trust her own abilities.

Q: What’s one thing about you that might surprise your coworkers?

I have a weirdly good numerical memory. If I see a number once, it’s basically tattooed in my brain—project numbers, material counts, you name it.

Q: How do you spend your time outside of work?

I’m a huge Lego collector! I have quiet a few at my desk, while the larger builds like the titanic and Eiffel tower are housed proudly at home. Not to mention the other 4 shelves of Legos displayed around my house.

Q: What’s your favorite company memory or tradition?

My team once threw me a baby shower that was a complete surprise—which is impressive because I usually notice everything. My favorite tradition, though, is our Christmas party. It’s the one time we all get together, laugh way too loud, and joke around.

Q: What does #BeAHero mean to you?

#BeAHero means a lot of things to me, but it’s really about showing kindness when people are going through hard times. It’s the small things: sending goodies when a teammate’s child is having surgery, checking in during health scares, or celebrating big moments like engagements with flowers. Real heroes don’t wear capes; sometimes they’re named Emily or Imani and quietly make your hardest days a little easier.
